RE: SIX Campgrounds We Stayed At On The Way Home

Any issue with train noise at Maryhill? I didn't notice any trains but we were there Sunday over night. BNSF does run trains close to the campground. UP runs trains on the Oregon side of the Columbia.

SIX Campgrounds We Stayed At On The Way Home

Paradise River Valley Campground CA. This was a neat little campground. Dry Creek Campground USFS CA. Free Bluewater Lake State Park NM I am told there is a bit of geocaching at this park if that's your thing. Maryhill State Park WA La Pine State Park OR Death Valley CA All these campgrounds were nice to stay at. I do complain about Maryhill for high price with everything being turned off and closed. Just a single Porta potty outside the main bathroom. With everything being closed, the park really should only be charging half price at most. Enjoy,

RE: VIDEO: Annular Solar Eclipse and Hot Air Balloons 10/14/2023

No traffic in Winnemucca, NV, where I was in the 100% path for the annular eclipse :) But that's pretty cool to be at the balloon festival with the eclipse! Thanks for working hard to make the video! I would agree that a full eclipse (which I saw in 2017) is a more spectacular event. However, this one was still pretty special! Are you planning a trip for next year's total solar eclipse? Yes, we are planning on going to Texas.

VIDEO: Annular Solar Eclipse and Hot Air Balloons 10/14/2023

VIDEO Annular Solar Eclipse VIDEO Annular Solar Eclipse and Hot Air Balloon Festival October 14th 2023 Albuquerque NM 1200mm IR UV F16 Solar Filter Today's video, represents the whole reason for this current month plus long roadtrip. Traffic was horrible the morning of the Annular Solar Eclipse. It seemed everyone in Albuquerque wanted to wake up early and go to this event. Fortunately, we got lucky through persistence and local knowledge and got parked within 100 feet of the event entrance. We finally got setup in the field, only missing a few minutes of the even. While the eclipse was interesting to observe, I think I prefer Full Eclipses and the darkness they bring. Enjoy the eclipse video, I had to individually edit, reposition to center, resize, and restore color to the Sun after filtering 200 images. Take care, Jeff and Kelli

Petrified National Forest Park and Newspaper Petroglyph

Petrified National Forest Park and Newspaper Petroglyph Petrified National Forest Park We started at the visitors center, got some suggestions information, then started our drive through the park. the North section of the park featured Vista views and a cantina visitor center. The park south of the freeway is where the petroglyphs and petrified wood are found. To do this park right, you need to dedicate a full day to walk about each station and view the feature. A very good park, well worth the effort to go there.

RE: Bed Mat Base

As 2 or 3 people may have noticed,I just made a 2x4 frame with a pink foam center, replacing the 5/4x6 frame with 1 inch foam center I had used for several years. The frame supports the weight of the TC and the foam basically insulates the basement. The foam never showed signs of sinking into the bed sheet metal. I made the new frame to get additional height so I could slide my rear deck in without interference from the bumper. I also wanted more clearance over the cab roof. There were a couple additional things I wanted to add to the new design, I'll call them improvements. We've been on the road about 10 days with the new bed lift setup and it does work better than the old one keeping the TC aligned and centered straight. This frame and foam is not too heavy. Weight always being a consideration. This setup is working well for me. I have no need for a bed Matt. There are many ways to achieve the desired amount of lift and stability. Whatever works for you is the answer.

Acoma Pueblo Sky City Walk Through Only Photos Allowed

Acoma Pueblo Sky City Acoma Pueblo Sky City We took a tour of the oldest continuously Lived In City in North America. Photography permit included with tour ticket. No video allowed. This is a must see tour for people interested in Native American History. The tour covers about 3/4 mile on foot at a slow easy pace and takes a little over an hour. The San Esteban Del Rey Mission Cathedral, built over 11 years from 1629 to 1640 under the whip and brutality of Spanish Conquistadors, is the highlight of the tour. Pictures from the 1930's show the Cathedral to be in poor, unkempt condition at that time, and competent restoration has revitalized the structure and surrounding Sky City. I hope you enjoy the video. Only still photography is allowed, no video, hence the slide show.

Truck Camper Bed Step Safety Repair.

TC Bed Step Repair. The slide out step to the bed was in the process of breaking and collapsing. I got some steel brackets and fastened it all back together and it is much more solid and safe than before.

RE: VIDEO: 2000 F-250 Spare Tire Hoist Replacement

The spare tire winches are very easy to rebuild. I had to cut the aircraft cable with a dremel and cut off wheel to remove the tire as the spare would not lower. Once the cable becomes frayed and bird nested inside the winch housing it is almost impossible to lower and raise. I Drilled out all of the factory rivets, separated the halves, removed old cable, greased, and spooled with new winch cable by replacing the rivets with machine bolts and locknuts. Works better than new. While highly admirable, it sounds like work. Since I paid 125.oo plus greasing the governors pocket 10.25% ,maybe it pencils out. Good you were able to do it. ?? https://i.imgur.com/OtjgP6Ql.jpg Not to sound like a cliche from a Clint Eastwood character - but, “I fix things, that’s what I do” I’m 61 and even after critical health issues I have no intention of slowing down. I have always done all my own work. I realize not everyone can, and I do not slight then for it. My F350 PSD is a 2002, and to your point, especially older vehicles, it is to everyone’s advantage to do their own work if able. My work is typically very superior to shops and stealerships. I have been a welder mechanic my entire life. Some of the older machinery I work on at the factory is from the World War 2 Era and makes a truck seem like a tinker toy. In addition I’ve had help along the way from like minded individuals on the Ford Diesel forum that I belong to, just as RV.Net is such a wonderful resource. Ha Ha, good for us. Both in our 60s with health issues, no intentions to slow down, love working on projects. We can't be all bad! We're currently overnighting in a rest stop. Three campgrounds were full. It is very loud with the semi rigs close by. Try for some shut eye and tomorrow will be better Take care

VIDEO: 2000 F-250 Spare Tire Hoist Replacement

VIDEO 2000 F-250 Spare Tire Hoist Replacement VIDEO 2000 F 250 Spare Tire Hoist Replacement An unnamed tire store in Quartzite is believed to be the culprit and cause behind the mystery of the missing spare tire. I purchased 2 new tires and had them installed on the rear. I also asked to take the better of the two tires and use that for a new spare tire. I got the tires installed fine. They have installed the wrong weight rating tires previously. The proper tires were installed this time after reminding the manager of the previous installation error. Though I inspected and cleared the new rear tires, it did not occur to me to check if the spare was changed. Now bear in mind, I have never had a flat and have never touched the spare tire. While I was replacing the muffler recently, another of my well over a hundred, How To Repair videos, I noticed there was no spare tire. I tried to imagine what happened and after many scenarios, I've concluded the tire shop employee doing the job did not know about the crank handle for the tire winch stored on top of the radiator. I am pretty sure the tire person used an air impact gun to lower and raise the tire. Upon raising the tire, the power of the air gun tightened the lift cable, compressed the tension spring, and pulled the cable out from the cable end. I was deliberately not told anything about the event and that my lift was broken, and I had no spare. This brings us back to my ongoing point, you need to be able to work on, and repair your own stuff, or else you're at the mercy of, and hoping for the honesty of others.
